DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDING
Built in the early 17th Century, it was initially privately owned by the Monk Chtristoforos and Christofora. The building was renovated in about 1900, while it suffered severe destruction during World War II by the German forces. The interior divisions and structures were added at a later stage, as well as the part at the rear side of the building.
In its today form, the church has a rectangular plan, and entrance is gained through a side part, which is probably a later addition. The woman’s balcony can be accessed from an external staircase, situated at the private open space at the rear side of the church.
The two long side facades of the church are simple, while greater interest was shown in the design of the main facade, which is symmetrical and is characterized by two tall towers on the two edges of the wall. At the central section of the facade, three tall, arched windows are symmetrically positioned and a circular oculus is situated, a little higher, on the central axis.
